    Notes
    • No sign of Nicholas baptism in the PR for Headcorn - using KFHS transcript (CD 19); a couple Nicholas and "Francisca" did have a dau bapt in 1650, possible the parents of Nicholas.
Or could have even have been a previous marriage of this Nicholas.

No sign of marriage to Elizabeth either, although there was a marriage in Headcorn:
586 07-Dec 1673 TAYLER Nicholas (of Smarden) OVELY Sarah (of Smarden)
Was it this Nicholas and a previous marriage?
No sign of dth of Sarah.

If there were 2 Nicholases there is only one burial, could be either: 22 May 1683. "Agriculturist" - Latinisation of farmer or does it imply more?

    • Marriage info assumed from marriage licence, and from Charing transcribed data (on CD 25) not showing the marriage.

The family appear to have moved from Hollingbourne to Headcorn between 1645 and 1650. Headcorn burials seem to be missing in the PRs from Aug 1643 to Dec 1662 (judging by KFHS transcribed data), so the two children of whom nothing more is known may have died young in that period.

Family Elizabeth CATT OR KNIGHT,   b. Est 1645, (possibly), Headcorn, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location,   d. Yes, date unknown
Married 2 May 1678  St. Michael the Archangel’s Church, Smarden, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 18 Mar 2020)
"May 2d Secundo Die Maii, Nicholas Tayler et Elizabetha Catt, Ambo de Hedcorne, nuptial contratiebant."

One entry on FamilySearch, from BTs or ATs shows Elizabeth as a widow. An Elizabeth KNIGHT married Thomas CATT in Headcorn in 1668, and a Thomas CATT was buried there in 1675, so it seems likely that Elizabeth was born Elizabeth KNIGHT - more research to be done.

Whilst I show this marriage as of Nicholas, son of Nicholas and Frances, it could be a subsequent marriage of the Nicholas who had been married to Frances.
** at present I have not seen burials in Hollingbourne, even in transcript form - one or more of the children of Nicholas and Frances might have died in infancy **
