    Notes
    • (Research):Who was Mary?
The only Mary Holcomb (or variant) born in about 1815 in Boxgrove, judging by the baptims there, as recorded on the SFHG database, was one who seems to have died in 1822. Or was the death of a different Mary and this Mary the daughter of Elizabeth and James (on this tree here)?
In 1851 this Mary and her family were the next census entry to  George and Harriet Stewart and their family. Harriet was a Holcombe, baptised in 1809, daughter to Richard and Hannah. Was Mary a sister of Harriet? There are quite large gaps between the children I know of of this Richard and Hannah. Although they had a daughter Jane baptised in June 1815, the previous one I've found was Harriet, baptised as I said in 1809, the next in Jan 1818, so Mary could easily have been born early 1814 or late 1816.
I think it most likely that this Mary was the daughter of Richard and Hannah, not only due to the gap, but also as their 6 children that I know of (at the time of writing this note, 20 Dec 2013) were baptised in 5 different churches - they clearly did move around quite a bit.
