There were lots of Lily Adams, but assuming Thomas's wife was born in the Stoke on Trent area and that the dob in the 1939 register is correct this is the only one to fit:

Gender Female Died Mar Q 1958 Stoke on Trent Reg Dist, Staffordshire, England - The death of a Lily Gotham was registered q1 1958 in Stoke on Trent RD, aged 67. I think it was probably this Lily - there was a Lily Adams a birth of a Lily Adams registered in Stoke on Trent in q4 1890 who appears the most likely Lily Adams to have married Thomas (but it was a common name).

However, this Lily Adams had a sister in law 'Lilly', whose birth was registered in q1 1891, so the above death would also fit her.
The other death, that was probably whichever Lily didn't die in 1958, was in 1973. It shows the Lily who died then was born 27 Dec 1890. Born so late in December I think it is more likely her birth would have been registered the following quarter so I think that was probably the other Lily.

According to the 1911 census George and Mary had had 15 children, but only 7 were still living. Looking through birth registrations for Adams with a mother's maiden name of Hough finds all 11 found here, i.e. including all 8 found in censuses, but only 3 who died in infancy, so the identity of the other 4 is unknown.
