I can find no other William Henry whose death this could have been, but the family seem to have emigrated in 1888. Did William not go with his wife and children, or did he return to England before dying? Maybe he happened to die on a visit home, or returned for care not available in the USA.

(Newcastle T written next to Ann's name, and although the vol. is clearly XVII 2 transcribers had transcribed it as XXV at the time I looked at FreeBMD, 2 Jan 2015)
Actual date and place from PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 2 Jan 2015).
Henry and his father's surname was written as Gething, I guess in error.
Strangely, he appears to have signed 'Henry Gotham', then crossed out the Gotham and written Gething.

The family seem to have emigrated to the USA in about 1886 or 1887 (1888 according to 1900 census, 1886 according to 1910 - entries for Mary Ann, but their first child to be born in the USA was born 1887 so it has to be by then).
I am assuming they all went although William Henry died back in England in 1900.
Mary Ann was also inconsistent with the number of children she had mothered, the 1900 census showing 5, while the 1910 census shows 10! (Her age means she cannot have had 5 between 1900 and 1910). Both show she had 4 living. Did she think the question referred to the number who had emigrated to the US? i.e. did William and Mary Ann have 3 more after arriving? I think this is possible, though the number of living suggests that if they did all died young (they would have been born between 1888 and 1900, but all dead by 1900)
