  Notes	(Research):Shown as a Sidney in the Surrey vis, Gaynsford pedigree - Bannerman, p. 94 "Margarett d. of [blank] Sydney of com. Sussex". I don't know how reliable this is. Penshurst, the home of the Sidney family, is in Sussex. The Wikipedia biography of Margaret's husband Nicholas suggests she may have been the daughter of John Sidney of Cranleigh [Surrey] but without giving any reason for this. In her will Margaret left bequests to the churches of Banstead and Mickleham as well as Carshalton. Usually churches left bequests besides where a person was living (in Margaret's case, Carshalton, unless she moved after her husband's death) were those where they had lived at an earlier time in their life, quite likely including a birth place. Neither Banstead nor Mickleham are close to the Surrey - Sussex border, nor to Cranleigh. A quick Google does not suggest any connection of the Sidney family with Banstead or Mickleham but if a younger son and family had lived in one for a relatively short time there may well be limited mention of them there now.
