Father Thomas Henry NORTHMORE, b. Mar Q 1877, Tavistock Reg Dist, Devon, England , d. 15 Apr 1951, Witchcombe Farm, Ugborough, Devon, England (Age ~ 74 years) Mother Jane PHILLIPS, b. Abt 1877, Gunnislake, Calstock, Cornwall, England , d. 9 Jan 1970, 1, Beacon View, Wrangton, Devon, England (Age ~ 93 years) Married Mar Q 1903 Plympton Reg Dist, Devon, England - Wife's Christian name from gravestone.
GRO ref: Northmore, Thomas Henry to Phillips, Jane q1 1903 Plympton RD 5b 341
Plympton RD did not include either of the couple's birthplaces or Ugborough where they subsequently lived, but does include Shaugh Prior where there first 2 children were born.
By 1911 the couple had had only the 2 children, both of whom were still living.
I believe the 2 girls were theirs due to the mother's maiden name being Phillips; although there were a number of Northmore : Phillips marriages the previous one with a Northmore groom was 1879 and the following 1832 (in Cardiff, no doubt the parents of the Northmore born that year in Cardiff with a mother's maiden name of Phillips)
Both girls were born Totnes RD, which included Ugborough.
The gap between the children may well have been due to the war. Although the Roll of Honour in Ugborough Church which shows all who served in the Armed Services in WW1 does not record Thomas he may well still have been in Shaugh Prior at the time.
