William Frank Goatham and son Billy
On the back is written:
"Taken July 1st 1928
You will note that Billy is near as tall as me."
Billy was only 13 at this time but it may not be surprising that he was about to overtake his Dad in height. William Frank's naturalisation papers in 1934 give his height as only 5'3". My Dad was only about 5'4" and in photos with his father the latter looks to have been slightly shorter, so it seems that William Frank and his brother, my grandfather, were a similar height.
