Ellynor DELYSTER
Set As Default Person -
Name Ellynor DELYSTER Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Bef 1555 - Sisters Bennett and Ellen were two of the complainants in a Chancery Court case. So far I have only seen the decree (dated 29 Oct 1555) and Discover catalogue entries; one of these shows a date for one of the documents between 1544 and 1551. They could have been minors with someone acting for them but must have been born by 1555, probably by 1551 (if catalogue entry is correct).
Gender Female Died Aft 1611 - Granted probate for her husband's will
Siblings1 sister
Half-siblings1 half brother (family of John DELYSTER and Eleanor ) Patriarch & Matriarch
Person ID I19353 All Last Modified 25 Jun 2018
Father John DELYSTER, d. Between 2 Dec 1566 and 12 Dec 1566
Other Partners: EleanorMother Marian EASTON, d. Bef 1555 Married - A Chancery Court case shows that John's wife Marian, sister of John E(a)ston, was the mother of Eleanor and Bennett. Since John's son William was not shown as an heir of Marian it seems fairly safe to assume he wasn't her son.

Family Edmund WATTS, d. Abt Feb 1610/11 Married Between 1555 and 1569 - Married before Ellynor's sister Bennett wrote her will in 1569. Probably also married before her father wrote his will in 1566, as he doesn't mention her. The most likely reason for not leaving her a bequest is that she was given her portion as part of a marriage settlement.
Referred to as Elen Delyster in Chancery Court decree dated 29 Oct 1555 so appears not to have been married by then.
Edmund's will shows he left 6 children as well as his wife when he died. Given the marriage was before 1569 date of I expect the children were all grown up, and I am guessing the marriages shown here were of his children, though there is enough time some could be of grandchildren. The will suggests none was married but I suspect this is a result of it being a nuncupative will, i.e. recording oral death bed wishes.
I think the Edmund who died in 1610/11 was this one not a son with the name due to the will of his wife's brother showing they were both still living in 1599. If this Edmund and Ellen / Ellynor had a son Edmund it would be a coincidence if he too married an Ellen.
* so far I have only seen the marriage info for Harrietsham on KFHS CD 12 - seeing the baptisms and burials should confirm or otherwise *
(the Mary Wigan transcripts include the marriage of a Jane WATT(ES) in 1607/8 to one John WEBB; it seems clear this is not a daughter of Edmund as a John WATTS of Harrietsham wrote a will in 1632, proved 1634, leaving a son-in-law John Webb married to Jane his daughter)
