The will of William's mother, Elizabeth Trant (nee Foal)
Elizabeth left William her "Messuage Tenement and Dwelling House with the Herb Garden Orchard and Herbery thereunto belonging and appurtaining", although out of this he had to pay £20 to his brother Richard.
In addition, he was left half of her "Lime Kiln with the fields and appurtenances thereunto belonging" - half because this was to be shared equally with his brother John.
Lastly William was left the rest of Elizabeth's "Chattels and Effects" not otherwise bequeathed.

Elizabeth FOAL, b. Abt 1744, d. 9 Jun 1822, Frogmore, Devon, England (Age ~ 78 years) (Mother) Notes - I am guessing this William is the one who was married to Mary Anne and father of John (know of this rel and child from the Sherford PRs - online transcription of John's bapt).
Of their chidlren, only Ellen was with her parents in 1851, and was still with them in 1861.
Also living with them was Slapton-born grandson William; neither Ellen nor William were shown as having any occupation in either year, but it may have been assumed that a farmer's family would be involved on the farm.
Also with the family in 1851 was an 11 year old Elen Trant, born Totnes - relation column shows visitor so don't know if a grandchild.
2 male servants in 1851 - presumably the 2 farm labourers; 1 male, 1 female in 1861 - possibly the female was a domestic servant.
I suspect that the gap in children between 1823 and 1832 is due to the move from Sherford to East Allington; I haven't seen the East Allington bapts or transcripton of them. Hence only have James - and he is a guess, based on birthplace and occ.

Philip Trant may have been the son of John and Elizabeth but I think he was more likely the son of John's brother William. See birth notes on Philip's page for my thoughts on this.
