Name Thomas WHITEHEAD Suffix [ONS gp] [Parents?] Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born - I have no firm evidence either that this Thomas was the son of Thomas, baptized in Chelsfield in 1705, or of the Thomas and Elizabeth who appear in Knockholt by about 1711.
Even if Thomas was the one baptised in Chelsfield in 1705, as no mother is named in the baptism register it is not certain who his mother was. If his father did move to Knockholt he could have been widowed and remarried.
From the PR entries there is no evidence of any Whiteheads in Knockholt for the best part of a century until Thomas and Elizabeth had children baptised there from 1711/12, and about the same time William and Mary appear, their first child being baptised in the parish a few months earlier in 1711.
It seems likely William and Thomas were related, and that the appearance of two Whitehead families in the parish at the same time was not co-incidence.
Given the absence of Whiteheads in the Parish prior to this date it seems probable that this Thomas was the descendant of one of the couples. It is possible that William and Mary had had children before settling in the parish, and if so they could have included a Thomas.

"27 Thomas Whited of Nockholt in Kent Husb.
Mary Barton of Chelsfield B:Sp Gay" - under heading 'December 1729'
'B:Sp' clearly stands for 'Bachelor:Spinster'; I think it says 'B:', but written over something else. probably W. It is just possible it's a W ontop of B.
