Margaret Swan's tumbler
I understand (from Margaret's granddaughter, Marjorie Hemmings) that this tumbler was given to Margaret when she was in service (i.e. probably between 1863 and 1875) to commemorate a special occasion for the family for which she worked.
Marjorie Hemmings thought she worked at Cliveden; if this is correct the family in question may have been the Grosvenors.
To make matters worse in confirming / disproving this, I have not managed to find Margaret or her father etc. in the 1861 census, nor…Residence 1881 117, Villa Street, Newington, Surrey, England - In the borough of Lambeth, hamlet of Walworth; one other family at the same address in Villa Street.
Residence 1891 18, Edward Street, Newington, London, England - With husband and 4 children and 2 boarders: one a nephew John Inman, son of her sister Jane, and James Blames (b Slough, Bucks, a collector of assurance)

Despite the large gap between their third and fourth children, the 1911 census as well as the birth registration index (GRO online index, with mother's maiden names) suggests there were no others.
Margaret's entry in the 1911 census shows that in her marriage she had 4 children, 3 of whom were still living.
