Married 1618 - Married at the Walloon Church in Canterbury? - the marriage contract is there but no record of the marriage.
When Paul remarried in Jan 1636/7 there was a mention of the 3 children of his marriage to Lea; presumably that means 3 had died, i.e. one other besides the infant Lea and the first Marie.
A child of Paul's died in September 1637, and another a few weeks later.
To what age was the term 'enfant' used i.e. are these the deaths of children of Paul and Lea (I suspect they are), or had Paul had other children (a wife between Lea and Rose?) that I have not yet found?
Sept. 30 Un enfant a Paul DE FARUAQUES.
Oct. 23 Un enfant a Paul DESFERVAQS.
There appears to have been an outbreak of plague in Canterbury in 1637, with a particularly large number of burials in July and August (including Paul's brother Samuel); numbers were still quite high in September and October - this is one of 4 deaths recorded on October 23.
Given that Jeanne died in 1639, it would seem that none of the children of this marriage reached adulthood. [1, 2]
Marriage Contract - "1618, 3 July. Marriage contract between Paul DEFFARUACQUES, son of the late Gilles, assisted by Frangois Godefroy [Gaudeffroy], his father-in-law (step-father ?), Samuel Deffaruacques, his brother, and Robert Trigault, his master; and Lea DU RIEN [DU Rié], daughter of Andre, assisted by her father, Phil[ippe] Haignerel, her uncle, Joel du Pire, her god-father, (parin), Noelle de Bourge [de Bourges], and Jeanne Toussain, her god-mothers. (Vol. iii., No. 141)"
