Shown as the son of Roger and Hannah
The mortality rate amongst twins was much higher than amongst other children, so it was no surprise to see that although only 1 of Roger and Hannah's other children appears to have died in infancy both twins did. Roger's twin, Sarah, may have died from a childhool infection as there was a massive peak in children's burials that autumn. Perhaps it is surprising that Roger did not die then, but survived until the following March, by which time the infection seems to have subsided as there were only 6 burials (4 children) compared with 20 children in each of the months October and November. Roger's burial was the first for a fortnight.

"[Feb:] 10 Roger Philpott & Han[n]a Philpott both of St Johns in the Isle of Thanet wth License" - under heading at the top of the page 'Marriages 1737-8' (and before heading part way down page 'From march 25 1738 to March 24 1739')
No baptisms found for the 3 children Ruth, Rebecca and Richard, though all are named in their father's will. With the approximate dob of Ruth known from her burial record, if this is accurate it suggests Richard and Rebecca were younger (there are no gaps between the older children in which they could reasonably have been born). Roger and Hannah may have swithced to a non-conformist church and the 3 have been baptised there.
