Other Partners: Joseph RENALSBanns of marriage From 27 Apr 1800 to 11 May 1800 St. Mary’s Church, Bishopsbourne, Kent, England
- The entry (KFHS transcript, CD 23) shows Richard as otp and a bachelor, Elizabeth's abode as Bridge, but the field for spinster or widow is blank
Banns of marriage From 11 May 1800 to 12 Jun 1800 St. Peter’s Church, Bridge, Kent, England
- "Richard Rose of the Parish of Bishopsbourne and Elizabeth Adams of this Parish"
From PR image (on FMP) which shows 3 readings on 11 May 1800, 26 May 1800, 12 Jun 1800, though these dates may not be quite right. Banns were read on a Sunday, and although 11 May was a Sunday in 1800, 26 May was a Monday and 12 June a Thursday!
They were also supposed to be read for 3 consecutive weeks, and although in chapels which may only have had a service every 3 weeks they were sometimes read at 3 week intervals rather than weekly in the parish church as the law seemed to require, Bridge was a parish and would have been expected to have services every Sunday.
Married 21 Jun 1800 St. Peter’s Church, Bridge, Kent, England
- Curiously, the banns were read in Bishopsbourne because Richard was of the parish, but the marriage register shows him as of Kingstone. Possibly abode and where he was born / came from had been confused - the latter shouldn't matter for banns and marriage registers.
Neither banns nor marriage register for Bridge show marital status for either Richard or Elizabeth.
The marriage was witnessed by another Richard Rose and a Sarah Rose - I guess these were the groom's father and sister.

Family Jane KEELER, b. Abt 1809, Alkham, Kent, England
, d. Dec Q 1870, Bridge Reg Dist, Kent, England
(Age ~ 61 years) Banns of marriage From 1 Nov 1829 to 15 Nov 1829 St. John the Baptist Church, Barham, Kent, England
Married 28 Nov 1829 St. John the Baptist Church, Barham, Kent, England
- From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 23 Jan 2018)
It looks like William and Jane had a joint wedding with William's sister Peggy, who married George Fuller. Same date, same place and William and Jane had the same witnesses.
A Wm marrying in 1829 could have been this ones uncle, but the 1841 - 1861 censuses shows that a Wm about the age of this one was married to a Jane.
