Joanne KINGE
Set As Default Person -
Name Joanne KINGE Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1572 Marden, Kent, England
- (assumed from baptism)
Baptised 9 Mar 1571/72 St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Marden, Kent, England
- From PR entry (image seen thanks to fellow researcher Ann Ross)
"Jone the daughter of Christofer Kinge were christned the ixth day" - alongside "Maritii Anno Dni 1572" in the left margin/
Being in Marden where Joanne subsequently married this seems the most likely Joanne to have married Guy.
A Joane KINGE was also baptised in Cranbrook on 24 Apr 1580; no parents shown. Although there were a number of Kinges baptised in Cranbrook 1562-1592, the 1580 baptism appears to be the first since 1574. I say seems to be since I have only seen the KFHS index entries, not the PR itself, so I don't know if, as is often the case with registers of this age, many of the entries are now illegible.
Joan appears not to have been the daughter of the Robert King of Marden who left a will in 1594 since he mentions wife Joan and children just a Margaret (under 30 when the will was written, 1594) and a son Robert.
