  	Could Cutbush be the same name as Courthop(p/e)? - lots of these in Cranbrook incl a Margaret bapt in 1633. Also Courtfordes etc. common in Cranbrook. Marden - next to none, just a couple of Courtop/Courtups. I suspect not; there were a number of Cutbush wills from Biddenden (11 miles from Marden) c 1478 - 1550, plus lot of Cutber(d/t) in Brookland (c27 miles from Marden) 1489 - 1628 and 1736 (Cutbeard). Geo Cutbeard of Sutton Valence 1693, 3 C18th Maidstone - Cutbush. If Margaret was the one bapt 1633, her father was Thomas. Only marr of a Thomas with a similar surname I've found so far: 1618 04/23 Thomas COTCHFORDE Elizabeth POYLE - but looks like 2 Thomas Courthop(e/p)s having children in 1620s/ 30s in Cranbrook. Although a lot of PR entries from Sutton Valence and Brookland are on KFHS CDs, they don't go early enough for baptism of Margaret. Biddenden do (back to 1538)

  Notes	It wasn't that unusal for a man to marry a woman several years older than himself, and it seems likely that it was the Margaret baptised in Marden that William married, but it cannot be ruled out that there was another Margaret who William married. (The East Kent wills index shows the name was particularly common in Biddenden and Brookland, I have looked at KFHS transcripts for Biddenden and found no Margaret there; the KFHS transcripts for Brookland only go back to 1684, although the PRs do survive from 1558; I have not yet looked more widely)
