    • It seems probable that this burial was this George, although his son had been baptised in Whistable a few months before this George might have been buried in a family grave.

      (many entries on the page show 'son of ...' or 'daughter of ...'; this one doesn't so probably the burial of an adult but can't be sure)

      ** However **, since I do not know what became of the wife or either of the children of this George it is possible the whole family moved away, to a parish not yet identified.
      (In this case the burial could have been that of an infant George; besides the son of this George, there were George Goathams baptised in Whitstable in 1734, 1738 and 1740; I believe one of these was my ancestor, but I don't know what happened to the others).

    Notes 
    • There are just too many George Goathams! The Whtistable PRs (KFHS transcript, CD 22) show 6 children with a father named George baptised between 1730/1 and 1741. However, there are 3 different names for the mother(s)
      1. Ane (Ame? Ann?) - 1733
      2. Jane - 1728, 1733/4 and 1737
      3. Mary - 1730/1 and 1741

      George and Jane are probably the couple who married in 1721, George presumably being the son of Richard (the son of Thomas, also called George, would only have been about 16 so I assume was not the one marrying). Either of the others, Ane or Mary, could be wife of this George.

      Since I have only found the one other George in this area I am for the moment recording the dau of George and Ane with George and Jane - is it a typo? A mistake because the clerk knew the uncle of the 2 Georges, who did have a wife Ame / Ann? But the date isn't a good fit for this. It means George and Jane have children baptised in Aug 1733 and then Feb 1733/4.
      Maybe there was a 3rd George I haven't yet discovered. In which case was this George married to Mary or to Ane? 
      On the other hand, these are baptism dates, not birth, and perhaps they took a while to get Elizabeth baptised.

      This is important to my tree since I believe I am descended from one of the 3 Georges born around 1740 / 1741. One was the son of Michael, the other of "George and Mary" - but which George was that, and whose son was he?
