Name George GOATHAM Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1665 Herne, Kent, England - Assumed from baptism.
Baptised 10 Jan 1665/66 St. Martin’s Church, Herne, Kent, England Gender Male Died Jan 1730/31 Herne, Kent, England Buried 28 Jan 1730/31 St. Martin’s Church, Herne, Kent, England - Probably the George who died in 1730/1 - that burial doesn't seem to fit in with the other Georges.
From PR entry (image on FMP)
"George Gotham __ Buried January 28th"
(many entries on the page show 'son of ...' or 'daughter of ...'; this one doesn't so probably the burial of an adult but can't be sure)
Another was buried 31 Oct 1741 (also in Herne) - several others could have died 1741.
There was also a George buried in Seasalter in 1724
Siblings 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 person of an unknown gender Half-siblings 4 half brothers (family of George GOATHAM and Joan ) Patriarch & Matriarch Notes - I think this must be the George who entered into a lease of land in Herne in 1706. (Although there were a lot of George Goathams none of those in the Herne area other than this one seem of a suitable age) An earlier document regarding the same land cannot refer to him, as he was then only aged about 2, but probably referred to his father.
I think this must also be the George who was a borsholder (seems to be the only one of a suitable age in the Herne area - there was another on Thanet).
In the Centre for Kentish Studies (in Maidstone) is a copy of an order discharging Thomas Petman as borsholder of the borough of Stread in the hundred of Dengate and appointing George Gotham (CKS-Q/SB 30/121) - I've not yet seen it. - (Research):Is this my ancestor?
Although appearing as such on my tree, I am not certain, as besides his grandson George Goatham there was another George who could have been the one who married Ann Winch, my ancestors. The other George was the grandson of this George's brother Richard.

(to have a rough date recorded helps me to remember what I am looking for)
It may well be that it was before the Restoration and this is the reason I haven't found it.
