Gender Male Military Service to 1944 In the Second World War - John was a Private in the 9th Parachute Battalion of the 3rd Parachute Brigade in the 6th Airborne Division. At the time of his death he was batman to Major Allen Parry.
John died following a parachute drop at Arnham, aged just 20 years. He lied about his age, using his borther's name to do this, so is listed as George David Adsett and as aged 21 (from CWGC entry).
