with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1767 - I have no firm evidence for Jane's existence, or at least that Jane, the wife of John READ and mother of Francis was a JUTSHAM. It seems probable (if I am right in identifying Alexander Benjamin JUTSHAM as the same person as Benjamin JUTSHAM who worked in the Royal Court) as Benjamin named Francis as his nephew in his will. However, the term 'nephew' may have been used a little loosely.
There was clearly more than one John and Jane READ couple having children baptised in 'London' around the time Francis was baptised, making it more difficult to put together a family and potentially identify Jane's name at marriage.
Gender Female Nota bene Did she exist? - Clearly (from his baptism record) Francis Read's mother was one Jane Read - Read being her married name. I have no firm evidence, though, that her maiden name was Jutsham.
