William WHITEHEAD
Set As Default Person -
Name William WHITEHEAD Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1735 Baptised 16 Feb 1734/35 St. Martin of Tour’s Church, Chelsfield, Kent, England
- From Knockholt PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 7 Sep 2022)
"william son of Thomas and Mary whited February the: 16 Chelfeild"
It is not clear to me if this means that the baptism was in Knockholt altough the family lived in Chelsfield, or was recorded in Knockholt PR because that is where the family lived, although the event took place in Chelsfield. I suspect the former. When William's older brother John was baptised there was a mention of Chelsfield, but it was more clearly that the family were 'of Chelsfield'. However, when Thomas and Mary married, Thomas was described as 'of Knockholt' but Mary as 'of Chelsfield', and the family subsequently lived in Knockholt, so it is possible there were there by this time, and Mary had gone to be with family, e.g. her mother, for the birth of William.

"27 Thomas Whited of Nockholt in Kent Husb.
Mary Barton of Chelsfield B:Sp Gay" - under heading 'December 1729'
'B:Sp' clearly stands for 'Bachelor:Spinster'; I think it says 'B:', but written over something else. probably W. It is just possible it's a W ontop of B.
