    • Stone Farmhouse is now a listed building and a description and its location can be seen here and here.

View from the turning to the farm off the 'main lane'.

The article mentions it being lived in by the Man family to the mid-C17th, which is consistent with this reference to it being enfeoffed to Richard Cabell by Richard and Alice Mann by indentures dated 30 September 1652.

In some way this farmhouse passed a couple of days later from Richard Cabell to Andrew - I guess it was leased to him. Richard Cabell esq. was of the Middle Temple in London, I guess it was an investment, he would not have found living in this isolated location handy!

    • Shows Cleve alias Hamete, John & Richord [blank]
The brides surname was not shown in other marriage entries at the start of 1613.

Unlike some names in Widecombe, both Cleve and Hamete (and other sps. of these names) were uncommon in Widecombe at this time, and I have found no other couple who could be the parents of those shown here at their children.
The fact that John was recorded at marriage as 'Cleve alias Hamete' also suggests a close connection to their supposed children, as both daughters and RIchard were recorded with the alias at marriage, the alias was used in the baptism record for Thomas' daughter and it occurs on numerous occasions in the records of Andrew's family.
