  Notes	(Research):Middle name: not in baptism or birth registration, but he seems to be recorded as 'Reuben T' in the 1881 census, when still with his parents and the information probably supplied by them. It is easy to imagine the 'T' could have been an I misread, given the style of Is and Ts of that time. Iland is in his marriage record, and also the middle name of one of the witnesses (Louisa Iland Holness). He was recorded as Reuben Hyland Nye at his death, and Reuben I (or J - they seem to be the same as written by the ennumerator) in the 1901 census, and his middle name was spelt Ireland in the 1920 and 1921 electoral registers. He made his mark on his marriage PR entry, and so it is not surprising the spelling should be so variable.
