Shows John Hills married Thomasin Long
The date and the bride being a Thomasin makes it likely to be the marriage of this John. The reason for it being in Canterbury is unclear, maybe Thomasin was from Canterbury. The functions of Bishop, Archdeacons etc. had been suspended and there were no marriage licences at this time so the usual reason for a marriage in Canterbury was not the case.
The will of John and Thomazin's son Gabriel show his home as being in Ramsgate. As a young unmarried man this was almost certainly with his mother and siblings.
Ramsgate was a fishing village; hence it seems probable that his father had been a fisherman or mariner of some sort, and it is likely his brothers were too. Gabriel may not have been the only Hills to lose his life at sea. It may explain why no burial record has been found for his father and some or even all of his brothers.

Family John BOULES, b. Abt 1651, d. 4 Dec 1709 (Age ~ 58 years)
Other Partners: Elizabeth PEPPER m. 12 Dec 1680; Mary m. Between 1704 and 1709Married 10 Nov 1672 St. Laurence’s Church, St. Lawrence in Thanet, Kent, England - Katherine's brother Gabriell refers to his 'brother in lawes two children Mary and Anne Bowles' in his will, indicating Katherine married a 'Bowles', and this marriage fits. Gabriell also left bequests to his mother and brothers but nothing to Katherine, suggesting she herself had died by then.
