    • The marriage licence shows John had been 'of' South Bersted for 7 or 8 years, suggesting he was not born there.
I have not studied other Bacons etc. present in South Bersted which may suggest a family moving there en bloc but age about 14 or 15 John could well have moved to the parish by himself, for work or to become an apprentice.
The only baptism I have seen for a John Bacon (etc.) on the SFHG database (checking on 31 Oct 2018) that it seems reasonable to think might have been this one was baptised in St. John the Baptist, Westbourne on 6 Apr 1735, son of Richard and Elizabeth BACON.
      * I have not yet looked at the Westbourne family to see if that John seemed to stay there. *
