"23d Was bapt. James, son of Peter & Susannah Carr (born 19th. inst:) Spons. Peter Farrell & Mary De Bellas"
Gender Male Residence Bef 1872 185, Chester Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire, England
- His address at the time of the 1871 census, and he was described as 'late of' this address in his probate calendar entry. It was still his wife's address, and he had made her his executrix, which doesn't suggest they had separated. Was the address at which he died some kind of asylum? It appears not, the house can be seen on Google street view and is a small terraced house.
A newspaper BMD column entry recording his death says he died 'at his residence', also suggesting he had moved to the address.
At the Birkenhead address in 1871 was not just James and his wife, but also a daughter, son-in-law and several young grandchildren. Perhaps he just needed some peace and quiet.
Died 2 Mar 1872 12, Marquis Street, New Ferry, Cheshire, England
