"May 27 Jon :s: of George Askew drudger & Eliz: his wife"
(name not clear, could just be Jaes)
    Gender Male
    Died Yes, date unknown
    Buried
    • A James was buried the same year (25 Aug). Was it this child? Does the baptism record actually indicate James not John?
However, not only does the name seems possibly wrong but the father is shown as a seaman; this child's father is consistently recorded as a 'drudger'. His father was a mariner - but he died in 1666 and no baptism of a son James found.
However, there was a John of Faversham who married in 1730; it seems probable that was this John (unfortunately no father or other relation named).

(from Cowper, vol 4, col. 18)
Je(a)kin(s) was quite a common name in the Faversham area, Jenkin(s) was not; I think this was an error by Cowper or in the original licence info)
