    • (Research):The 1870 and 1880 censuses show William's wife as Christi(a)na; the transcription of Julia's mother's maiden name in her marriage record on FamilySearch shows her as Isabella. Was one a middle name, the other her first name? Had William remarried to a Christi(a)na after Julia was born? Possibly one of these, but I think most likely there is an error, either on the marriage record or the transcription of it.
      The entries for Christi(a)na in the 1870 and 1880 censuses show her as born in Germany, and the entries for Julia in 1900-1920 show her mother as born in Germany, so that is consistent with her mother being Christi(a)na, but there were many German born women around, so William could easily have married two.
