    • According to the 1871 census, where shown as aged 28, and the age given for her in the death registration index she was born in 1842 or 3. However, few people married at young as 14 or 15 so I suspected she may really have been born a little earlier. I believe this is her brith registration, despite both the age discrepancy and the lack of the middle names used when she married.
      I think it is her because:
      1. The mother's maiden name was Marshall; this name was given as a Christian name to Harriet's first son and daughter.
      2. The 1851 census entry which seems to be for Harriet (with a father who matches that in the PR entry for her birth - matches both on name and occupation) suggest born about 1839.
      3. There seems to be no other birth or baptism in the Liverpool area that could be this Harriet.
