Actual date and month from the 1939 register, but year there shown as 1876. Age at marriage recorded as 21 which also suggests 1876 (it being at the end of the year).
Age recorded at death suggests 1877 if the month and date in the 1939 register are correct.
So when was it?
The only birth registration which seems to fit is:
GRO ref: James, Rosa q3 1877 Stoke T. RD 6b 207; GRO online index shows mother's maiden name as Warrilow
Is this the right one? Women's ages are usually reduced rather than increased, but an exception can be to marry without parental consent; maybe that was why Rosa gave her age as 21 when she was only 20 at her marriage.
Rosa's marriage PR entry names her father as George JAMES, a Butcher. The only James = Warrilow marriage that could be Rosa's parents was of a George James to an Emily Warrilow.
Finding the family in the censuses with a George and Ros(a/e) to fit* shows George's wife was Emily, and so it seems safe to assume Rosa was the Rosa James born in 1877.
(* For some reason her father was not at home at the time of the census in 1881, but a brother of Rosa's was described as a 'Butchers assistant'. In 1891 George was described as a cattle dealer, but a son - not the assistant of 1881 - was described as a butcher, and the household also included a servant - an apprentice butcher.)
