The 1911 census shows Alfred and Sarah as having had 4 children, all of whom were still living. However, the censuses only show 3, and there are no more births registered of Byatts with a mother's maiden name of Gotham or Gothan, 1885 - 1912, including searching with the option to find similar sounding to both names.
There are also no illegitimate Gotha(m/n)s who could have been their child, born before their marriage, with the birth correctly registered and perhaps brought up by another family member. I have NOT explored the possibility that a 4th child was registered as an illegitimate Byatt. I think it more likely, though, that the number reflected the number of children (minors) in the household at the time of the census - a 15 year old servant was also with the family.
