There was more than one Baddeley family with the mother a 'Mountford' having children in the Potteries area at the same time. It looks to me that the births of the children of Ethel and George were all registered in Newcastle under Lyme RD, while others were registered in Stoke on Trent or Wolstanton RD.
In addition to those with Ethel and George at the time of the 1939 register I am guessing a couple of others were also there children, the only others from Newcastle RD, who fit the gap between their first and the next in the register nicely.
One, Leonard, died aged 11 which explains his absence.
Another was of an age that he could well have been in the forces.
