Anne
Set As Default Person -
Name Anne Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Gender Female Buried 10 Jul 1622 St. Andrew’s Church, Stokeinteignhead, Devon, England
- From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 18 Jun 2015)
"Anne Whihtwaye buried the xth daye of July." - under heading - '1622'
Nothing in the PR to indicate that Anne was the wife of Silvester, but given that he appears to have married the year following Mary's birth (i.e. assuming it was the same Silvester) then there must have been a burial of Mary's mother between her birth and the remarriage of Silvester. This seems to be the only burial of a female Whiteway in Stokeinteignhead in that period so is probably Mary's mother. However, if she was not from Stokeinteignhead (as the absence of a marriage seems to suggest), she could have been buried back in the parish she came from.
(I have not browsed the PRs, only looked at the index for Stokeinteignhead, for surnames starting Wh*t* and Wi*t*, and for the same surname for marriges of a Silvester in 1612+/- 10 years anywhere in Devon)
