Name Mary GOTHAM Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1655 - estimated from date of marriage
Gender Female Died Yes, date unknown Siblings 3 brothers and 2 sisters Half-siblings 3 half brothers (family of Thomas GOTHAM and Mary GOSWILL) Patriarch & Matriarch Andrew GOTHAM, b. Est 1585, (probably), Abbotskerswell, Devon, England , bur. 10 Mar 1673/74, St. Mary the Virgin Church, Wolborough, Devon, England (Age ~ 89 years) (Grandfather)
Elizabeth, b. Est 1625, bur. 2 Sep 1663, St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Ogwell, Devon, England (Age ~ 38 years) (Mother)Notes - (Research):What became of Mary?
Maybe (but I think not) she was the Mary Prowse who married Daniel Wadlan in Brixham on 27 Dec 1698 (also recorded in Churston Ferrers register, which shows the marriage took place at Brixham). The Churston Ferrers PR have the baptism of a Daniel in 1674, son of another Daniel. It seems probable that this was the Daniel who married in 1698.
A daughter Mary was baptised on 17 Sep 1700 and a son Daniel 16 Mar 1701/2, buried 29 Mar 1702.
Daniel was buried in Brixham on 31 May 1742, shown as of Churston Ferrers. There were 2 burials of Marys in Brixham who could have been his widow, one buried 1 Jun 1743, no marital status shown, the other buried 29 July 1749 (also in CF PR, but year shown as 1748), shown as a widow. Both were also shown as of Churston Ferrers. Due to being shown as a widow the 1749 burial seems most likely.
These dates of burial, and also the probable baptism of the Daniel who married in 1698, suggest the marriage to Daniel was not this Mary - if she died in 1749 she would have had to have been aged at least about 87, and at least 12 years older than Daniel, probably more.
Maybe she returned to East Ogwell. There was a Mary Prowse buried there on 6 Apr 1697.
Maybe there is an error in the PR which shows a daughter of Peter Prowse buried in 1690, maybe it was his widow, this Mary.
There are rather too many Marys to make tracking her down easy, and quite a number of Peter Prowses and obviously of Elizabeths, so the names of her children don't help much in working out where she might have gone.
A lot more research into the Prowses would be needed to work out what became of them all.

Father Thomas GOTHAM, bap. 6 Oct 1622, St. Mary the Virgin Church, Wolborough, Devon, England , bur. 1700 or 1709, St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Ogwell, Devon, England (Age ~ 86 years)
Other Partners: Mary GOSWILL m. Jan 1663/64Mother Elizabeth, b. Est 1625, bur. 2 Sep 1663, St. Bartholomew’s Church, East Ogwell, Devon, England (Age ~ 38 years) Married Est 1647 - Date estimated from the dob suggested by marriage licence allegation for the Andrew Gotham I am guessing was his son.
My estimates of dates of birth of the daughters I guess to be children of this marriage (* which marriage may not have even taken place! *) are a little later, in the 1650s, so they do not require an earlier date.
An Elizabeth Gotham was buried in East Ogwell on 2 Sep 1663, I suspect this was Thomas' 1st wife. A remarriage just a few months later was common, especially where a man had young children needing mothering.
A Humphrey was buried about 2 months before Elizabeth who I guess may have been a son of Thomas and Elizabeth; I know of no Humphrey for whom I do not have a burial.
However, this does present another possibility: was this Thomas the son not of Andrew but of Humphrey? Since there is no Humphrey signing the protestation oath I think it unlikely.
There were also burials of Thomases in East Ogwell in 1700 and 1709, neither shown as 'son of' though other children were at this time. I guess that one was the Thomas in this marriage, but who was the other?
There may well have been a child of this marriage named Thomas (or of Thomas's marriage to Mary Goswill - there are no BTs or PRs for years incl. 1668 and 1670).
