      ** It seems most likely to have been this John GOTHAM who married Catherine Morris, based on his age, and my having found other wives for other appropirately aged Johns, but at the moment I have no firm other evidence to confirm this **

      A Catherine Gotham did marry in 1968, and I can find no other Catherine than can have been than Catherine nee Morris, so this John's death in 1963 would have left her free to marry again.

      Although Matthias Marriott was an unusual name, there were births registered in Stoke on Trent Registration District in q1 1893 and q4 1924: either of these could have been the one marrying in 1968.
      FreeBMD has no other marriage that could be eithers, and the older died in q2 1971 (still in Stoke/T RD).
