George WALDER
Set As Default Person -
Name George WALDER Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1868 Aldingbourne, Sussex, England
- Shown as aged 36 in the 1911 census, with birthplace given as Chichester. The age agrees with the age given at time of marriage as 30.
No sign of a George Walder to fit this dob and birthplace in earlier censuses.
Seems to be the same as the George Walder who appears as the son of Frank in the 1871 census where shown as aged 2, and the grandson of William in 1881, where shown as aged 12, so it seems he was actually born about 1869. He probably 'adjusted' his age to reduce the difference between him and his wife, being aged about 35 when they married when she was only 21.
Also, as is often done, approximated his birthplace when living at some distance, from the village of Aldingbourne to Chichester, just 6 miles from Aldingbourne.
