  • Name Charlotte GOTHAM
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
    Born Abt 1796
    • I am assuming Charlotte was a daughter of Matthew and Mary as I don't know of other Gothams in the area, and the address given at her burial (Compton Street) was the same as given when Matthew's first wife was buried. As she was described as an infant she was probably the child of Matthew's second wife; had she been a child of his first marriage I think an actual age would have been given (others burials recorded on the same 2 page spread were shown as aged 2, 4, 5 etc.) - approximate date based on this.

"22 Charlotte Gotham, aged: Inft, Compton Street NG" (under heading '1797 Burials' and sub-heading "February')
The column with an 'address' does not have a header; it may be place of death rather than abode (entries include Workhouse, Hospital, pub and Market, but all could be abodes)
The last coloumn, headed 'Buried' shows OG, NG, poor, Church or blank where there is a note 'carried away'.Does this refer to different graveyards or parts of a graveyard?
