Gender Male Died Yes, date unknown Notes - Marylebone is somewhere a mariner might well have settled. I suspect that John was a mariner from Devon, possibly the John baptised in Teignmouth in 1755 or (more likely) the one baptised in Topsham in 1753. The latter had a brother Samuel, which could explain this John naming a son Samuel, a name not much used in the Devon Gotham families.
Alternatively, John could be the son of the James baptised in Paignton in 1713. I don't know what became of James, but John appears to have named a son, possibly his first, James.
