"Richard Kerton of the p[ar]ish of Bickington and Joan Gotham were Married the 7th of June"

Was it the marriage of this Joan or her mother?
I am thinking it was probably this Joan / Johan who was buried in 1671, and this marriage may have been her widowed mother. However, in the PRs a couple of brides marrying in Staverton in 1685 are shown as widows, and in one of these marriages the groom as a widower, so the absence of any such comment in the PR entry for this couple may tend to suggest they were bachelor and spinster, though there can be inconsistency in recording widow / widower.
The Joan who married Richard KERTON was probably the one buried in Bickington in 1709. There seem to have been no children of the marriage, consistent with it being the marriage of an older Joan. There were marriages of a Richard KERTON in 1663 and 1669 - possibly the same one as in this marriage.
Seeing images of burials may provide more info which could help.
