The baptisms suggest that there were 2 children of Thomas were baptised about 3 months apart in Staverton. It's possible but seems unlikely this would be the case with siblings; were there 2 Thomases having a family in the parish at that time? The register does not seem to be a copy (each year is signed and the names / handwriting varies), and the entries are in order. Was an error made with the surname and one the child of a different Thomas? Or were they twins, the healthy one baptised in church, the sickly one at home and the date is a "received into church" date? All possibilities.
In particular I show this Thomas having a daughter with the unusual name Protesia, bapt 1623; a Thomas had a daughter bapt in Ashburton in 1618 named Parteza. Did the Ashburton Thomas live for a period in Staverton - were these 2 with the unusual name daughters of the same Thomas?
There was clearly at least the children of one Thomas being baptised in Stavertion before the marriage of this one to Susan Dewring (could be a child of the Ashburton Thomas).
In Staverton burial register for 1627 there is an entry:
"The Daughter of Thomas Goetham buried the _ viiith Febr:" - I don't know which daughter this was.
