I think it would not have been before 1844 when Robert was granted a conditional discharge that he could have lived on Unwin's Survey land. The Tasmanian convict records show that he was still there at least to 1840.

Notes Transported?
The evidence I have found now shows beyond any reasonable doubt that it was this Robert who was the "Robert Goatham" who was transported to Tasmania in 1830 for house breaking and larceny. I had suspected he might be for some time, but since the name Robert was also used by Goathams in the Kent family, in the branch from which members moved to London, I had originally thought he could be a descendant of one of them.
As well as having found a record which shows Robert's age as 18 in 1830, suggesting he was born in 1811 or 1812, which fits nicely with the baptism of this Robert, I haven't come across a Robert of the right age amongst the Kent Goathams, nor any further record of Robert Narramore Go(a)tham in England. Now in additioin I have found a letter seeking for clemency from his sister.
Conditional Pardon
It was reported in the Colonial Times (published in Hobart, Tasmania) on 26 June 1844 that Robert had been recommended for a Conditional Pardon:
CONVICT DEPARTMENT.
Comptroller-General's Office, June 19 1844.
It is hereby notified to the under-mentioned individuals, that it is the intention of the Lieutenant-Governor to recommend Her Majesty the Queen to grant them Conditional Pardons:-
... Robert Goatham, Clyde; ...
M. Forster, Comptroller-General
Family in Australia?
A Robert Goatham married one Jane Gunn in Victoria in 1857 (registration place Victoria, reg. no. 4323) entry on Ancestry.
Was it this Robert?
The death index has an entry for a Jane Goatham who died in Victoria in 1877 at the age of 69; a newspaper entry gives her name as Jane Gunn GOATHAM, and shows her as relict of Robert Gunn Goatham. (It also shows she died in Richmond, was a native of Dublin and had lived for many years in Stawell)
The death of a Robert Gunn Goatham was recorded in Victoria in 1870, age shown as 54, i.e. born c 1816. While this doesn't quite agree - the middle name of Gunn and the age 5 years out - the link of Gunn and Goatham would seem to suggest a link with the Robert who married Jane. But most confusingly his father is shown as Robert Gunn and his mother as Lond.
I guess Jane would have registered her husband's death, I wonder if she misunderstood the question re parents and named her own.
I will be trying to learn more about the Australian use of middle names - would a Robert Goatham marrying a Jane Gunn have subsequently called themselves Robert Gunn Goatham and Jane Gunn Goatham?
Additional info.:
Jane Gunn Goatham was listed as a Shareholder of the Band of Hope Quartz Mining Co in 1873, of the Nos 1 & 2 North Scotchman's Quartz Mining Co in 1874, of the 2 3 4 & 5 Scotchman's Reef Quartz Mining Co (1873) (last 2 just show as J G Goatham)

Father William GOTHAM, bap. 9 Nov 1775, St. Mary the Virgin Church, Wolborough, Devon, England
, d. 1830 (Age ~ 54 years) Mother Mary DANIEL, b. Est 1777, d. Aft 1830 (Age ~ 54 years) Married 29 Jan 1799 St. Andrew’s Church, Plymouth, Devon, England
- From PR entry (image on FMP)
But was it the marriage of this William to a Mary?
I am fairly sure it was; the date is appropriate and there is no sign of a William Gotham in Plymouth before this date or this couple afterwards.
Unfortunately the PR entry for the marriage does not give William's occupation, but the banns book might.

Other Partners: John GUNN m. 27 May 1839Married 1857 or 1868 Victoria, Australia
- A listing of Victoria (Australia) marriages, to 1942 appears to have 2 entries for Robert GOATHAM and Jane GUNN; one in 1857 and the other in 1868.
The latter shows the places Deptford against Robert and Dublin against Jane. It is not clear but I think these must be birthplaces and it appears to confirm that it was this Robert who married Jane GUNN.
When Jane died a granddaughter, spinster Elizabeth Jane Gunn, who was living in the same place, possibly with her grandmother, testified as to the date of Jane's death (in the probate records). Therefore it seems probable that Jane was a widow when Robert married her. This could have been the reason for two marriage dates - perhaps she was still married in 1857.
