Name Nicholas MURTON Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1490 - A rough estimate - based on estimate of dob of his probable son Austen, and assuming he was third son as listed third in Chancery court case.
Graveney is very close to Boughton under Blean, and the fact Nicholas had a son Austen suggests he was probably father of or at least closely related to my 12 x gt grandfather Augustine / Austen MURTON.
Gender Male Residence 1534 Graveney, Kent, England - Nicholas' home when he wrote his will
Died 1534 (probably), Graveney, Kent, England - Between writing his will and it being proved; according to Canterbury Probate database were in 1534. Of Graveney when he wrote his will.
Will 29 Nov 1534 Written Property Between Dec 1534 and 1538 Graveney, Kent, England - A Chancery Court case which in which the Bill must date from between 1534 (it refers to Nicholas as deceased, and his widow Bennet had remarried) and 1538 (it names the Lord Chancellor of England as 'Thomas Audeley knyght') refers to the detention of deeds relating to a gavelkind messuage in Graveney, by Robert Martyn, gentleman. The plaintiffs were Richard, Thomas and Austen, sons and heirs of Nicholas Murton. (The accusation may have been a fiction - a way of recording a property transaction).
'Robert Martyn' was probably the brother of the 'John Marten', mentioned in Nicholas' will as who he had purchased a house from. (This Chancery case concerns a dispute between John's widow and his brother Robert).
