"Harkelas Sonne of John & Tamsen hilles baptd the 3th of July"
Gender Male Died Aft 1683 - Living when his brother Gabriel wrote his will
Buried 23 Mar 1731/32 St. Paul’s Church, Canterbury, Kent, England - ** POSSIBLE burial - I am not confident about this being the right one **
Matching up baptisms and burials this seems the only burial I know of 'left over' that could be this Hercules', but with this Hercules' nephew Hercules and his family being in Canterbury at this time the burial could be a grandson of that nephew whose baptism I haven't found, or who died unbaptized or with a private baptism not recorded, whilst the burial of this Hercules may be mis-transcribed or he could have died at sea etc.

Shows John Hills married Thomasin Long
The date and the bride being a Thomasin makes it likely to be the marriage of this John. The reason for it being in Canterbury is unclear, maybe Thomasin was from Canterbury. The functions of Bishop, Archdeacons etc. had been suspended and there were no marriage licences at this time so the usual reason for a marriage in Canterbury was not the case.
The will of John and Thomazin's son Gabriel show his home as being in Ramsgate. As a young unmarried man this was almost certainly with his mother and siblings.
Ramsgate was a fishing village; hence it seems probable that his father had been a fisherman or mariner of some sort, and it is likely his brothers were too. Gabriel may not have been the only Hills to lose his life at sea. It may explain why no burial record has been found for his father and some or even all of his brothers.
