  • Name Richard JOHNSON
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
    Born Abt 1718
    • From age in burial register, assuming it was this Richard Johnson
    Baptised
    • No likely Richard in Woodhorn Parish in the index on FMP (as at 14 Apr 2019); the most likely there would seem to be the son of George, resident Horsley, baptised in Longhorsley on 8 Oct 1721. However, Richard could be missing from the index for one reason or another, and (probably) another Richard was married in Bedlington in 1756. Need to find out more about that Richard, and the coverage of the records on FMP.

    • From the Northumberland & Durham FHS transcribed data (on FMP, viewed 13 Apr 2019)
Given this Richard's daughter was 'of Newbiggin' at the time of her marriage, but subsequently lived in Earsdon parish it seems highly probable that this burial of a Richard with a link to both places was this Richard. Although his daughter and son-in-law had predeceased him, he may have been cared for by a grandchild in his final illness, or visiting them when he died, and hence buried in Earsdon.
BT entry (image on FamilySearch) shows:
"Richard Johnson of Newbiggin Woodhorn Parish Grindstone maker died March 4th. bur. 6th. aged 86 years."
