Notes - In the 1841 census Robert is recorded as a cooper, living with his mother in Newcastle; no wife present, it appears he was probably unmarried at that time. In the 1851 census there is a Robert Brown of about the right age, a cooper with a wife Jane living in Newcastle. It seemed probable that this was this Robert. Unfortunately no children whose birth registrations would have given a mother's maiden name and could have led to their parents marriage.
However, I have now found another Robert in the 1851 census I think could be this one; more research needed.
