	GRO ref: JOHNSON, George Walter to Dawson, Emily Jane q3 1873 Kensington RD 1a 316 In the 1911 census Emily described the 'present marriage' as having lasted 40 complete years - though it was only 37, and as having produced 14 children, 13 of whom were still living. That may mean she was counting Frank. In the 1871 census Frank, aged 3, was shown as being 'son' to the head of the household, although it was unlikely he was the son of 58 year old Mary A Dawson! Also present was 2 year old Harry, like Frank with no mother's maiden name in the GRO online index, indicating he was probably illegitimate. Was he another son of Emily? With Harry's birth registered in q3 of 1868 and Frank's birth registered in q1 of the same year I think it is safe to assume they had a different mother. Sister's of Emily were present in the same household in 1871 old enough to have a two year old. This adds weight to Frank being the 14th child, as it removes the need to explain why it wasn't 15.
