There was an IPM for a Francis of Surrey, in 1618, suggesting this Francis may have died about then. This date does not quite agree with a brass plate that was in Camberwell Church, recorded by Aubrey and cited by Allport:
"Here under lyeth the body of Francis Muschamp Gentleman who deceased the 20 August 1612."
It could be that the IPM took place later than usual, or that the 8 was worn and looked like a 2 when noted. However, a will of a Francis of Peckham was written in Nov 1616 and proved Apr 1617. Maybe 1617 had been mis-read as 1612, but the death could not have been August.

      It is also said that
"On the same stone were commemorated his daughter Elizabeth, wife of John Pearse, and their "dear son George;" the former died in 1694; the latter in 1685"
Of 3 sucessive Francis of Peckhams descended from Ralph, it would seem the oldest could have died in 1612, but is unlikely to have left a daughter who died in 1694. The Surrey vis does show the second Francis as well as the third as having daughters named Elizabeth. The third Francis, though, was still living in 1623 so the inscription is probably not to him. He probably died about 1632, when there was another IPM, so it could be him if he date was actually 1632 but I would think a 1 and a 3 would be unlikely to be confused.

I think most likely the second Francis died in 1612, and his father outlived him, dying in about 1617. Seeing the IPMs should clarify this.

Boyd's London Burials also shows a Fran Muschamp buried at St Giles in 1612

Francis' uncle Thomas in his will written in 1568 refers to "Fraunces Muschampe Anne Muschampe and Katherine Muschampe Three of the Daughters of my Cosinne Fraunces Muschampe". Elsewhere he refers to nieces as cosins, so it is in keeping that he might refer to Francis as a cousin rather than a nephew, although he does refer to other nephews as nephews. I don't know of another Francis whose children these could be, though there could be one. I wonder if he is muddled in thinking of Francis' child Frances as a daughter rather than a son.
