Shown as Katie Walker in the 1911 census. Details from GRO birth registration entry. Date also from death registration index. ** I don't know if Katie was the daughter of Richard ** The 1911 census shows her mother and husband-to-be as having had 1 child of their marriage, still living, suggesting she was Richard's daughter. However, the family were boarders in the house of William and Edith Wallis, and may have wished to hide their true situation from the Wallises. Warkworth House was an annexe to the Brentford Union workhouse, used for a variety of purposes. If Katie and her mother were there longer than for her birth it probably wasn't for long, they were certainly not there by the time of the 1911 census. (See the Workhouse website entry)

  Notes	(Research):What happened to Katie? I have seen no records for her as a Goatham beyond her birth, I expect she married or died as a Walker. (She was recorded as a Walker in the 1911 census, as was her mother, although the latter had not then married!) Not with her mother and (step?) father at the time of the 1939 registration, but not surprising as she would then have been aged 29. Not the Kate Walker who married Charles D Andrews in Brentford RD in 1929 as the 1939 registration seems to show that that Kate was born c. 1886. Not the Katie Walker who married Jabez Payne in in 1931 as the 1939 registration seems to show that that Katie was born c. 1877. Not the Kate Walker who married Henry Murrum in Brentford RD in 1928 as the 1939 registration seems to show that that Kate was born c. 1906. No Kate / Katie Walker in the 1939 registration who appears to be this one, no entry found in passenger lists on FMP (World) or Ancestry (viewed on 9 Nov 2016) who look like this Katie. Could have married away from the Brentford area - too common a name to look at all marriages. Katie Walker died Manchester, dth reg shows dob 6 Jul 1910 - not this Katie as 1939 reg shows she was a Walker by marriage.  Having got her birth registration entry I now know her date of birth and can look at Katies (and related names) in the 1939 register to see if this shows a likely person, and also look for a death registration or similar overseas where records related to death often contain a date of birth. No Katie and variants shown in the 1939 register as born 8 Jul 1910 shows up as likely to be this one; one Catherine born 8 Jul 1913 who had the maiden name of Walker was in Birkenhead and appears to be with parents, so can be ruled out.
