  Married	Rachell is named as the wife of Richard at the time of his death in a Chancery Court case (TNA ref: C 6/2224/57). I don't know if Richard had any children, and if so, if they were also the offspring of his wife Rachell (he could have been married more than once), or even if Richard had any children. It seems clear there is a link between Richard and those shown as the children of an unnamed brother; they could be his children, or be cousins of some sort, but that they were nephews and a neice seems most likely. Since a George Symons is described as uncle of the orators (in the Chancery Court case concerning Richard's will), implying uncle to the children of Mary Knapman as well as to the children of John Symons, it seems resonable to suppose that George, John and Mary were siblings. John and Mary clearly lived close to each other, in Burrington and Ashreigney, though some distance from Richard (over 40 miles). A George was having children at the same time as John in Burrington - it seems likely this was his brother George. This close proximity of the siblings suggests that this was the area they came from, which seems unlikely if they were the children of Richard, and hence I think it more likely they were the children of a brother of Richard. It seems clear that it was the same Richard who had the property in Treville Street Plymouth and who left the will resulting in the Chancery Court case. The Treville Street property had been in the hands of the Symons family before Richard, with the William I show as his father having it when he died and was described as 'of Plymouth'. Richard could have moved from Plymouth to Buckland, or William have had houses in both Plymouth and Buckland. It seems unlikely had the family been based as far away as the Burrington area they would have had property in Plymouth. Hence it seems to me likely a Symons moved from Plymouth or Buckland Monachorum to Burrington. The fact that Richard appears to have left property to those who were not his descendants suggests he may well have been childless. There is no obvious close link between George, John and Mary and Andrew and Rebecca, and so I am showing the last two as children of other siblings of Richard, but they could have been his own children. Although it seems that Rebecca was Rebecca Jeffery at the time Richard wrote his will, it is not clear if Jeffery was her maiden name or her name from a previous marriage. Rebecca married a man from Milton Abbot, less than 10 miles from Buckland Monachorum, and so she could well have been from the Buckland area. Unfortunately a copy of Richard's will does not seem to have survived in any form, and it may be that there is no other evidence to show the relationship, but at least linking the possible children tentatively makes it easier for me not to lose track of them and hence increases the chance I will discover evidence of how they are all linked.
