It being Michael's mother's name would make them more likely to use the name than the other Goatham families in the area at the time.

  	The KFHS CD 22 shows that a maid Eamy Goatham, a maid, was buried in Whitstable in 1741. The PRs with burials for the 1740s don't seem to survive - the KFHS data is recorded as being from the PRs and BTs. I will look at the BTs / ATs to confirm this entry.
